Final Master’s internship. Development of bioinformatic methods for the filtering and recovery of ancient nuclear DNA from sedimentary sources (sedDNA). Development of a Python tool called WizardEye to apply these methods in a simple, reproducible and well-documented way.

Microbiome Informatics — Supervised by Varsha Kale and Robert Finn
Funded by the Lumière! programme of the French Embassy in the United Kingdom
First-year Master’s internship working on the MGnify metagenomics platform. Evaluation of eukaryotic contig identification tools, integration of the best-performing tools into a Nextflow pipeline and application to datasets in order to check the impact of pre-binning sorting on subsequent steps.
